You found an ancient cipher. Legends say cyphers always lead to a totem.
The Mayan Native gave Dr. Hanz some coins and said they'd guide his soul to the three totems. Perhaps the coins have something to do with the cyphers.
Some of the coins have distinct shapes carved out of them. Perhaps the orientation of the legs is significant.
The bug coin fits perfectly!
What letters are the legs pointing to? You'll need to translate and rearrange the letters to form a word.

A clay shard. Looks like it may be one of many- Perhaps piecing together some sort of ancient Mayan artwork.
Dr. Hanz has a few artifacts he collected during his journey that look awfully similar.
Have you tried piecing together all the clay shards Dr. Hanz collected? The shard you found looks like it may be the missing piece.
Have you pieced together all the shards?
Did you notice the 4 Mayan letters? How about the 4 digits? Perhaps those digits are giving you the order.
![MM n6 6](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n6.jpg)
You must continue your journey and explore more of Mount Kap to discover all 4 wooden stalks (not including this one) to solve this.
You will need to have discovered all 4 wooden stalks (not including the one located behind the locked chest) in order to solve this. Keep exploring and come back to this puzzle later on in your journey.
Once you've discovered all 4 wooden stalks, what other information did you find around each one?
The carvings behind the locked chest give you the order in which to put each number found around each of the 4 wooden stalks.
![MM n7 7](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n7.jpg)
It looks like the ancient Mayans encrypted digits into the maze. Perhaps the path of the maze would lead to a code.
Did you notice the arrow in the head of the turtle? Perhaps this is is your starting point.
![MM n8 8](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n8.jpg)
Perhaps Dr. Hanz met the same Mayan local during his travels. Did you listen to his audio recordings?
Did you notice the list of ingredients in Dr. Hanz's notebook? Perhaps this list will help identify what was used to make this mixture.
You're looking for 4 ingredients to make more of this traditional mixture. What colour is the liquid? Perhaps two ingredients had to of been combined.

Mayan artwork depicting a snake. Seems to be made of a cloth-like material.
The snake is intertwined in multiple pillars. Did you notice the Mayan digits on each of the pillars?
Follow the path of the snake. The snake's body travels in and out of 4 different pillars. What digits are on those pillars?
![MM-11 11](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-11.jpg)
How unusual, a ledge filled with skulls and bells hung above. Behind the bells are 4 distinct shapes painted onto the wall.
Did you spot similar bells throughout your travels thus far? Perhaps Dr. Hanz did. Check his notebook.
Dr. Hanz noticed similar bells during his journey. Throughout his notebook, you'll find sketches of the 4 bells he spotted. Each sketch also has an assigned number and one of the shapes that are found painted behind the locked chest.
Perhaps the 4 shapes painted on the wall behind the chest, and the order they are in is important.
![MM-15 15](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-15.jpg)
A withered piece of paper with some markings on it. It's titled 'excavation site'. Seems like half of it is missing.
This piece of paper fits perfectly with the piece of paper you found earlier (Card #36). Perhaps Dr. Hanz made note of his time spent here.
Dr. Hanz made note of his time spent excavating around the village. It seems like his business card can be used as an instrument to measure the distance between dig spots.

The second half of a maze carved into a slab of stone. There are also coloured gems embedded into the stone throughout the paths of the maze.
Did you find the correct path to complete the maze? Perhaps the coloured gems are of importance.
Embedded outside of the maze is 1 red gem, 2 blue gems and 3 yellow gems. Perhaps this is order?
When following the path of the maze, how many red gems do you cross? How many blue gems? How about the yellow gems?

You've found the entrance to the Caves of Kapookan. However, it's sealed shut. Located on the wall next to the entrance is an odd cavity carved deep into the stone. There are also 7 coloured square tiles scattered beneath and 1 tile already placed into the cavity.
This is tricky- Only corners with the same colours can touch. Be mindful that there are only 5 colours. One of the coloured tiles is already placed into the cavity. Use this as your starting point. There's only one correct way to place all the tiles.
Each tile has a Mayan letter painted onto it. You'll need to dig through Dr. Hanz's research to see if he's translated Mayan letters into English. Did you notice the gold-glowing crack that travels through the cavity? Perhaps this is of importance.
![Created with GIMP 24](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n24.jpg)
More Mayan paintings- fascinating! After looking more closely, you recognize that each image is of a particular animal.
Perhaps Dr. Hanz has some information about these drawings somewhere. Have you listened to his audio recordings?
Listen closely to audio recording 006. Dr. Hanz notices some sort of spirit-like whisper in the wind. When played backwards, you'll hear it for yourself.
The spirit seems to be repeating some sort of food chain. Perhaps he is trying to give you the order in which to categorize numbers or letters. Is there any information in Dr. Hanz's notebook?
Dr. Hanz numbered the legs on the animal sketches in his notebook (page 9). Perhaps the number of legs on each of the animal drawings is of importance. The spirit must be giving you the order in which to put those numbers.
![MM-26 26](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-26.jpg)
A farewell note, written on a scrap piece of paper. Dr. Hanz must have written this before the crash.
Four of the letters on this note are actually numbers. The first being number 3 which replaces the letter E. See if you can spot the three other numbers.
![Created with GIMP 34](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n34.jpg)
4 mysteriously placed barrels. Upon closer inspection, you realize each barrel is assigned a different colour and number. Behind the barrels, are the words 'The waters depths will lead you to Kapookan' written onto the wall of the cave.
Search through Dr. Hanz's findings. Perhaps he's made note of how to solve this mystery.
Did you listen to audio recording 007? Dr. Hanz dropped a stone into each of the 4 barrels. Can you hear the difference? Perhaps the amount of water in each of the barrels is important.
When Dr. Hanz dropped a stone into each of the barrels, the time it takes for the stone to hit the water is very noticeable. The amount of water in each of the barrels must be the order in which to put the numbers found on the barrels. Perhaps the barrel with the most water is your first number.

Like a true archaeologist, you've just unearthed a multitude of bones.
This isn't just an ordinary burial site. These bones seem to have been placed in a particular order. Perhaps a hidden message!
Can you arrange the 6 cards to find the message?
Some of the cards will overlap one another to form a hidden message. Do you see it? Seems to be 4 Mayan letters.
You'll need to translate the 4 Mayan letters into English to decipher the hidden message.
![MM n47 47](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n47.jpg)
You found an antique celestial apparatus. Historically, this tool was used to map out constellations.
Did you notice what Dr. Hanz jotted down at the bottom of page 15? He's listed 4 specific page numbers. Perhaps he's encrypted something important on these pages.
Dr. Hanz has encrypted a series of directions on 4 different pages of his notebook. See if you can spot them. You'll need to use these directions with the coloured stones and the celestial apparatus to see what constellation is formed. Each page will give you one set of directions that will form ONE constellation.
Pg. 3 - Did you notice the directions Dr. Hanz labelled on the sketch of El Kapookan?
Pg. 8 - Did you notice how Dr. Hanz has underlined specific letters?
Pg. 12 - Each line begins with either an N, W, S, or E.
Pg. 4 - Dr. Hanz has circled an audio file. Give it a listen.
Now that you've figured out each of the 4 constellations, refer to page 14. Dr. Hanz has drawn out various constellations and titled each of them. He also underlined specific letters. See if you can figure it out!
![MM n48 48](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n48.jpg)
Unbelievable! You've found the Altar of Kapookan. Situated on a slate of rock is Kapookon's skull and three engravings that look very familiar.
The three engravings are the three Totems you've come across during your journey. Each being very distinct. Did you notice that Kapookan's skull and the three engravings are numbered? Have you taken a closer look at the skull? Did you find anything intriguing?
Perhaps, revisiting the three Totems may be beneficial. What information is found on the Totems? Perhaps you can find some similarities between Kapookan's skull and the 3 Totems.
Scavenge through Dr. Hanz's research- Maybe he has something that will connect everything together.
The scroll! Did you notice the 4 corners represent the 3 Totems and the Skull of Kapookan?
Using the scroll, follow the directions found on the Totems and Kapookan's skull. If you do this for each Totem and the skull, you'll find 4 letters. Perhaps the digits engraved into the rock and Kapookan's skull is the order in which to put these letters.
![MM n49 49](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n49.jpg)
Ancient Mayan coins, scattered across the ground. Mayan's never used coins as a form of currency, so, these coins must have a deeper meaning behind them.
Did you notice the 5 circles drawn into the dirt? These seem significant. Check Dr. Hanz's notebook to see if he's jotted anything down about it.
Page 7 in Dr. Hanz's notebook has a sketch and notes audio recording 005, mentioning some translated engravings he found nearby.
The drawing of the 5 circles in the dirt has Mayan digits in them. These happen to be the same digits as the 5 coins Dr. Hanz was given by the Mayan local. Perhaps this is a starting point. Try situating the coins in this exact same configuration and then give audio recording 005 another listen.
Be careful- the position of the middle coin is important, as it has the numbers 1 to 4 on it. Double-check page 7 to make sure you've placed it appropriately. The numbers 1 - 4 will be the order to put your final solution after following all the steps in audio recording 005.
Some of the wording in audio recording 005 is also a little misleading:
The monkey trades places with the lizard.
But before that, the monkey switches with the turtle.

A diamond-like shaped cavity carved deep into the bedrock of the cave. This is likely the grand monument Dr. Hanz mentions in his notebook. Inside the cavity sits 1 black triangular tile, and beneath lays 15 scattered tiles.
Dr. Hanz made replicas of the 16 triangular tiles. Did you find them? You'll need to arrange all 16 tiles to mimic the same diamond-like shape carved into the cave wall. Use the tile already placed as a starting point. When placing tiles, only corners with the same image can touch.
Once you get a few tiles placed in the correct spot, it gets easier. Did you notice each tile has a red Mayan digit in the middle? Keep these all in line.
Having trouble placing all 16 tiles? The People of Kapookan did their best to ensure nobody solves their encrypted puzzles.
Did you notice the 3 digits carved into the rock in the diamond-like shaped cavity? 1, 2, and 3. Perhaps the 3 tiles that sit directly on top of these digits are of importance.
Did you listen to audio recording 010? Dr. Hanz mentions something about the 3 digits he decoded.
Decoding this puzzle will only give you 3 digits. Remember, Dr. Hanz locked his travel security box with a 3 digit lock. The red Mayan digits on the triangular tiles are the numbers you'll enter into the lock. The order is engraved into the rock.
![MM n53 53](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n53.jpg)
A large engraved stone slab. It lays flat on the floor of the cave. It has some Mayan lettering, digits, as well as some coloured markings on it.
You will need to have discovered all 4 serpent statues in and around Mount Kap before solving this challenge.
You will need to have discovered all 4 serpent statues in and around Mount Kap before solving this challenge.
Listen to audio recording 008. Dr. Hanz stumbled upon this same slab. He mentioned some other important information he found on it.
Revisit the 4 serpent statues. Which direction is each one facing? Remember what Dr. Hanz translated- The red serpent always faces north.
![MM n57 57](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n57.jpg)
4 simple ancient Mayan paintings on the wall of the cave.
Page 5 in Dr. Hanz's notebook mentioned 'Entering the caves of Kapookan'. Perhaps he noted something important on that page.
Listen to audio recording 004. Dr. Hanz mentioned something about taking a photo of engravings he found. Scavenge through his research. You might find the photo he took.
Did you notice the Z-like line engraved into the wall connecting the 4 paintings? Perhaps this is the order.
You'll have to translate the Mayan text into English. Take note of the 4 letters Dr. Hanz has circled.
![MM n58 58](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n58.jpg)
A locked chest. On top, is engraved 4 tic-tac-toe-like configurations and different Mayan digits.
The People of Kapookan were fascinated with numbers and encryption. Translate the Mayan digits into English. This will make it much easier for you to recognize any patterns within each of the 4 tic-tac-toe configurations.
It seems like Dr. Hanz had a bit of a challenge on this as well. Check out page 11 in his notebook. He also notes a similar tic-tac-toe configuration, but, with letters. Perhaps, the missing numbers on the locked chest correlate with these letters.
Did you notice the pattern on the first configuration? Each number increases by increments of 2. So, the missing number is 4.
Were you able to spot the pattern in the second configuration? When you subtract the 2nd row from the 1st row, it gives you the number on the 3rd row. So, the missing number is 1.
Were you able to find all 4 missing digits? Can you decipher the relationship between these digits and the letters Dr. Hanz noted on page 11 of his notebook?
![MM n60 60](http://play.oddodysseygames.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MM-n60.jpg)
4 pedestals with a different coloured gem placed atop. The pedestals are numbered 1 to 4.
Do you recall spotting similar gems during your journey thus far? Dr. Hanz surely did- He made note of it in his notebook.
It seems like Dr. Hanz counted and kept track of the different gems he saw in and around Mount Kap. Perhaps you'll have to do the same.
There are 4 different coloured gems hidden in and around Mount Kap. Be careful, as some are hidden really well. You'll need to count them all. The number of each, not including the gems on the pedestals will be your final solution.

You've just found some sort of block. It's been carved into a distinct shape, has small gems embedded into it, and also has a Mayan letter painted on it.
You should have found 3 other similar blocks. They each have their own distinct shape, but they seem to fit together somehow.
These blocks stack on top of one another. You'll have to figure out how and in which order.
Perhaps the order in which these blocks stack on top of one another is the order in which the Mayan letters go. You'll have to translate those letters into English to decypher to code.
